American River Bankshares operates as a bank holding company for American River Bank that provides commercial banking services for small to mid-sized businesses. It offers checking and savings deposits, money market deposit accounts, and certificates of deposits; secured and unsecured commercial, commercial real estate, multi-family real estate, real estate construction, residential real estate, agriculture, and consumer loans; and other customary banking services. In addition, the company conducts lease financing for various types of business equipment, from computer software to heavy earth-moving equipment. As of December 31, 2008, it operated six banking offices in Sacramento and Placer counties, three banking offices in Sonoma County under the name North Coast Bank; and three banking offices in Amador County under the name Bank of Amador. American River Bankshares was founded in 1983 and is headquartered in Rancho Cordova, California.
