AXIS Capital Holdings Limited, through its subsidiaries, provides various insurance and reinsurance products to insureds and reinsureds worldwide. It operates in two segments, Insurance and Reinsurance. The Insurance segment offers specialty insurance products, including property, marine, terrorism, aviation, credit and political risk, professional lines, liability, and accident and health insurance products. This segment offers its products through wholesale and retail brokers, managing general agents, and underwriters, as well as through direct marketing. The Reinsurance segment provides property and casualty reinsurance to insurance companies. Its product lines include catastrophe; property; professional liability that covers directorsÂ’ and officersÂ’ liability, employment practices liability, medical malpractice, and miscellaneous errors and omissions insurance risks; credit and bond, which include reinsurance of trade credit insurance products; motor coverage to insurers for motor liability losses; liability coverage, such as auto liability, general liability, personal and commercial umbrella, and workersÂ’ compensation; and other products, including aviation, marine, personal accident, and crop reinsurance. The company was founded in 2001 and is headquartered in Pembroke, Bermuda.
