Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior, S.A., together with its subsidiaries, provides various financial products and services for commercial banks, state owned banks, private banks, state owned corporations, and private corporations in Latin America and the Caribbean. It offers traditional trade financing services, including loans and revolving lines of credit; short-term trade finance for pre and post-export of goods and services, and import of goods and services; commercial and stand-by letters of credit; reimbursement undertakings; banker's acceptances; and discounted notes with or without bank acceptance. The company's structured trade financing services comprise export finance, financing of export receivable programs insured by private insurers, and forfeiting and factoring services. It also offers syndicated structured financing and country risk guarantees services. In addition, Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior provides transaction-based products, such as the U.S. clearing-electronic services, electronic wire transfers, balance and information reporting, and automatic overnight investments, as well as inter-bank deposits, which include demand deposits accounts/call accounts deposits and time deposits. Further, it offers capital market services, including short and medium term issuances, and foreign exchange, as well as provides leasing services. The company was formerly known as Banco Latinoamericano de Exportaciones, S.A. and changed its name to Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior, S.A. in June 2009. Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior was founded in 1977 and is headquartered in Panama City, the Republic of Panama.
