The company's product pipeline includes ecallantide, a recombinant human protein in Phase II clinical trials for the prevention of blood loss during cardiothoracic surgery; and two Phase I programs that address unmet medical needs, including one in Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea and the other in multi-drug resistant Gram-negative infections. It also has a pre-IND and a Phase II program underway in novel treatments for respiratory syncytial virus infections using Alnylam's RNA-interference technology. In addition, the company has internal pre-IND research programs underway targeting novel antibacterials and Hepatitis C infections. The company has collaborations with Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, Inc.; and Forma Therapeutics, Inc. It also has a license and collaboration agreement with Dyax Corp.; a manufacturing agreement with Hospira Worldwide, Inc. and Oso Biopharmaceuticals Manufacturing, LLC; and a drug discovery agreement with Beactica AB. The company was founded in 1992 and is headquartered in Lexington, Massachusetts.
