The company principally serves metropolitan areas of Topeka, Wichita, Lawrence, Manhattan, Emporia, and Salina, as well as a portion of the metropolitan area of greater Kansas City. As of November 12, 2008, Capitol Federal Financial operated 40 branches. The company was founded in 1893 and is headquartered in Topeka, Kansas. Capitol Federal Financial is a subsidiary of Capitol Federal Savings Bank MHC.
