Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd. provides integrated telecommunications services in Taiwan and internationally. Its principal services comprise fixed line services, including local, domestic long distance, and international long distance telephone services; cellular services; Internet services, including ISP, FTTx, ADSL, and internet value-added services, as well as wireless local area networks; and data services comprising leased line, managed data, internet data center, and multimedia-on-demand services. As of December 31, 2008, its domestic network included 12.7 million installed telephone lines. The company also provided ADSL and FTTx services to 4.3 million customers. Chunghwa Telecom also engages in the distribution and sale of cellular phones for use on its cellular network to customers through the company's directly-owned stores, as well as through third-party retailers. In addition, it provides satellite services; corporate solution services, including planning and managing integrated communications solutions for the government and private enterprises; billing handling services for other cellular network and fixed line operators; and paging services, as well as publishes and distributes telephone directories to households and businesses. The company was founded in 1996 and is headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan.
