It invests in a portfolio of common stocks across diversified sectors. The fund primarily invests stocks of large-cap companies. In addition, it also employs a strategy of writing or selling call options on equity indexes, primarily on the S&P 500 Index, in an attempt to generate gains from option premiums. The fund was formerly known as Blackrock Capital and Income Strategies Fund, Inc. It was formed on April 30, 2004 and is domiciled in the United States.
