Con-way Inc., together with its subsidiaries, provides transportation, logistics, and supply chain management services for a range of manufacturing, industrial, and retail customers. It operates in five segments: Freight, Logistics, Truckload, Vector, and Other. The Freight segment provides regional, inter-regional, and transcontinental less-than-truckload freight services with a fleet of linehaul, and pickup-and-delivery tractors and trailers throughout North America. The Logistics segment develops contract-logistics solutions, including the management of distribution networks and supply-chain engineering and consulting, as well as offers multimodal freight brokerage services. The Truckload segment provides dry-van transportation services using a fleet of long-haul tractors and trailers. The Vector segment offers logistics management services. The Other segment engages in the manufacture and sale of trailers. The company was formerly known as CNF Inc. and changed its name to Con-Way Inc. in 2006. Con-Way was founded in 1929 and is based in San Mateo, California.
