The company has interests, including partnership interests, in a portfolio of 76 operating power plants with an aggregate generation capacity of approximately 24,187 megawatts; and 2 additional power plants totaling approximately 1,000 megawatts under construction. Calpine Corporation was founded in 1984 and is based in San Jose, California with an additional office in Houston, Texas.
