It also provides gift and decorative accessories consisting of collectibles, candles, framed art, and holiday and other seasonal items; tabletop and kitchen items, including glassware, ceramics, textiles, and cooking utensils; and jewelry, fashion accessories, and personal care items. In addition, Cost Plus, Inc. offers gourmet foods and beverages comprising wine, micro-brewed and imported beer, coffee, tea, and bottled water. As of January 31, 2009, it operated 296 stores in 33 states under the names World Market, Cost Plus World Market, Cost Plus Imports, and World Market Stores. The company was founded in 1946 and is headquartered in Oakland, California.
