Comstock Resources, Inc. engages in the acquisition, exploration, development, and production of oil and natural gas in the United States. It has onshore operations in the east Texas, north Louisiana, and south Texas regions, as well as in Mississippi, New Mexico, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Kansas, and the Mid-Continent region. As of December 31, 2008, the company's oil and natural gas properties had proved reserves of 581.7 billion cubic feet of natural gas equivalent and owned interests in 1,693 oil and natural gas producing wells. The company was founded in 1919 and is based in Frisco, Texas.
