America's Car-Mart, Inc., through its subsidiaries, operates as an automotive retailer in the United States. The company focuses on the buy here/pay here segment of the used car market. It primarily sells older model used cars, as well as various trucks and sport utility vehicles; and provides financing for its customers. As of May 4, 2009, the company operated 94 stores located primarily in small cities in the south-central United States. It purchases vehicles principally through wholesalers, new car dealers, individuals, and from auctions. The company was founded in 1981 and is based in Bentonville, Arkansas.
