Dialysis Corporation of America, through its subsidiaries, develops, owns, and operates outpatient kidney dialysis centers in the United States and internationally. It offers outpatient hemodialysis services, home and peritoneal dialysis services, inpatient hemodialysis services, and ancillary services associated with dialysis treatments. The company provides dialysis and ancillary services to patients suffering from chronic kidney failure, also known as end-stage renal disease. It also offers acute inpatient dialysis treatments in hospitals, homecare services, and dialysis center management services. As of December 31, 2008, the company operated 37 outpatient dialysis facilities in Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and South Carolina. In addition, it distributes medical products, primarily disposables and diabetic supplies to hospitals, blood banks, laboratories, and retail pharmacies, as well as offers a line of blood lancets used to draw blood for testing. Dialysis Corporation was founded in 1976 and is based in Linthicum, Maryland.
