DiamondRock Hospitality Company, a lodging focused real estate company, owns and operates premium hotels and resorts in the United States. Its properties are located in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, and Atlanta; and in destination resort locations, such as the U.S. Virgin Islands, as well as Vail, Colorado. As of February 27, 2009, it owned and operated 20 premium hotels and resorts with approximately 9,600 guestrooms. As a REIT, it would not be subject to federal corporate income taxes, if it distributes at least 90% of its taxable income to its stockholders. The company was founded in 2004 and is based in Bethesda, Maryland.
