DSW Inc. was formerly known as Shonac Corporation and changed its name to DSW Inc. in February 2005. The company was incorporated in 1969 and is based in Columbus, Ohio. As of January 31, 2009, DSW Inc. operated as a subsidiary of Retail Ventures, Inc.
