As of February 28, 2009, the company owned and operated 7 FM radio stations serving New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago, as well as 14 FM and 2 AM radio stations in St. Louis, Missouri; Austin, Texas; and Indianapolis and Terre Haute, Indiana. Emmis Communications Corporation was founded in 1981 and is based in Indianapolis, Indiana.
