The company primarily transports meat, ice, poultry, seafood, processed foods, candy and other confectionaries, dairy products, pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables, cosmetics, film products, and Christmas trees. It also engages in the rental of temperature-controlled trailers for storage and transportation of perishable items. As of December 31, 2008, the company operated a fleet of 2,029 tractors, including 1,629 company-owned tractors and 400 tractors supplied by independent contractors, as well as maintained 4,179 company-owned trailers. Frozen Food Express Industries was founded in 1969 and is based in Dallas, Texas.
