It offers property-casualty insurance products, life insurance and investment products, and annuity contracts to Farm Bureau members, and other individuals and businesses in the midwestern and western sections of the United States. The company also provides various fixed rate and index annuities, and supplementary contracts. In addition, FBL Financial Group sells whole life, term life, and universal life insurance policies, as well as variable universal life insurance and variable annuity contracts. It markets individual annuity products through independent agents and brokers; and variable products through alliances with other insurance companies. As of December 31, 2008, the company's distribution channel consisted of 1,962 exclusive agents and agency managers; and 19,098 independent agents. FBL Financial Group was founded in 1993 and is headquartered in West Des Moines, Iowa.
