It offers real estate mortgage loans for one-to-four residential, multi-family residential, HELOC, commercial real estate, and land; commercial real estate loans; residential real estate loans; home equity lines of credit; small business loans; and wholesale mortgage loans for sale. The company also offers real estate construction and land development loans; commercial business loans for retail, service industry, and professional services; and consumer loans to individuals for personal and household purposes, including secured and unsecured installment loans and revolving lines of credit. In addition, it provides trust and investment management services, including trust, professional portfolio management, estate administration, individual financial and retirement planning, and corporate retirement planning; and insurance services, such as life, long term care, and annuities. Further, the company's other banking services include safe deposit boxes, traveler's checks, direct deposit, the United States savings bonds, and banking by mail. As of March 31, 2008, it operated 10 additional service branches and 2 loan production offices in South Carolina. First National Bancshares has strategic alliance with Colonial Trust Company. The company was founded in 1999 and is headquartered in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
