It also provides governmental agencies consultation and management services relating to the design and construction of new correctional and detention facilities, and the redesign and renovation of older facilities for various state, local, and federal agencies. The company was formerly known as Wackenhut Corrections Corporation and changed its name to The GEO Group, Inc. in 2003. The GEO Group was founded in 1984 and is based in Boca Raton, Florida.
