This segment also offers proprietary software products to establish revolving check cashing limits for the casinos customers in the gaming industry. In addition, it sells, installs, and services automated teller machine and point of sale terminals; and provides authorization, electronic draft capture, and file transfer services, as well as offers merchant accounting and various back office services. Further, this segment provides card issuing services, including card database management and card personalization, as well as offers credit scoring, electronic data interchange tax filing, and Internet tax payment services. The Merchant Services segment offers its products and services various industries, including financial institutions, gaming, government, healthcare, professional services, restaurants, retail, universities, and utilities. The company's Money Transfer segment provides consumer money transfer services primarily to immigrants in the United States. As of May 31, 2008, this segment operated 793 retail branch locations in the United States and 90 in Europe. The company also has settlement arrangements with approximately 12,000 bank, exchange house, and retail locations worldwide. Global Payments, Inc. markets its products through sales force, telesales group, trade associations, alliance and agent bank relationships, retail outlets, and financial institutions in the United States, Canada, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region. The company was founded in 1967 and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.
