Its loan portfolio includes commercial real estate loans; residential real estate loans, such as one-to-four family, owner-occupied residential mortgage loans; commercial loans for various business purposes, including working capital, inventory and equipment, and capital expansion; and consumer loans for personal, family, or household purposes. In addition, the company, through its other subsidiaries, provides consumer finance, sub-prime automobile loans, and title insurance services. As of December 31, 2008, it had 65 bank branches in Greene, Blount, Cocke, Hamblen, Hawkins, Knox, Loudon, McMinn, Monroe, Sullivan, and Washington Counties in East Tennessee; Davidson, Lawrence, Macon, Montgomery, Rutherford, Smith, Sumner, and Williamson Counties in Middle Tennessee; Madison County, North Carolina; and Bristol, Virginia, as well as a mortgage banking location in Knox County, Tennessee. The company was founded in 1890 and is based in Greeneville, Tennessee.
