Hyperdynamics Corporation, through its subsidiaries, engages in the exploration and production of oil and gas in offshore of the Republic of Guinea, West Africa. The company owns exclusive rights to explore and exploit 31,000 square miles. In addition, it holds working interests in several oil and gas properties in northeast Louisiana. As of June 30, 2008, the company had 150,435 barrels of oil equivalent of proven reserves related to these Louisiana properties. Further, it owns work-over rig and oil field maintenance equipment. The company was founded in 1983 and is based in Sugar Land, Texas.
