In addition, HealthSpring's services include negotiation, monitoring, and quality assurance of contracts with third party healthcare providers; medical management, credentialing, marketing, and product promotion; support services and administration; financial services; and claims processing, and other general business office services. Further, it offers Medicare Part D prescription drug plans to persons who are eligible for Medicare. As of December 31, 2008, the company served 162,000 Medicare members. HealthSpring was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Franklin, Tennessee.
