Hughes Communications, Inc., through its subsidiary, Hughes Network Systems, LLC, provides broadband satellite network services and systems. It offers broadband connectivity to fixed locations on the ground through satellite data communication technology. The company provides various network equipment and services for uses, such as private networking; intranet and Internet access; voice services; connectivity to suppliers, franchisees, and customers; credit authorization; inventory management; and content delivery and video distribution. Hughes Communications also offers satellite-based Internet access, technical support, multiple email accounts, professional standard installation, and a commercial-grade antenna, as well as offers program management, installation, training, and support services. In addition, the company provides design and development engineering, terminals, ground based beam forming equipment, base station solutions, radio access networks, and other subsystems, as well as offers voice, data, and fax services to handheld or transportable terminals. Further, it develops a family of broadband products for point-to-multipoint microwave radio network systems that enable mobile operators to connect their cell sites, and fixed operators to provide wireless broadband services. Hughes Communications serves consumers, and small and medium sized businesses, such as small office and home office users; incumbent local exchange carriers, governmental agencies, and resellers; and enterprises in the automotive, energy, hospitality, retail, and services industries in North America, Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, South America, and the Caribbean. The company was founded in 2005 and is headquartered in Germantown, Maryland. Hughes Communications, Inc. is a subsidiary of SkyTerra Communications, Inc.
