It serves original destination manufacturers, contract manufacturers, and original equipment manufacturers through direct sales and third-party sales representatives worldwide. The company was formerly known as Velocity Communications and changed its name to Ikanos Communications, Inc. in December 2000. Ikanos Communications was incorporated in 1999 and is headquartered in Fremont, California.
