It operates in three segments: Data Group, Services Group, and Marketing Research Group. The Data Group segment maintains proprietary databases of information relating to businesses and consumers in the United States and internationally. It provides access to its databases over the Internet through various Websites, such as infoUSA.com, Salesgenie.com, onesource.com, and others. This segment provides prospect lists, mailing labels, 3×5 cards, printed directories, DVDs, business credit reports, and online and offline applications for identifying and qualifying prospective customers, initiating direct mail and email campaigns, telemarketing, analyzing and assessing market potential, and surveying competitive markets. The Services Group segment provides list brokerage and list management, direct mail, database marketing, and email marketing services for direct marketing clients in business-to-business and business-to-consumer marketers. It also provides email list management and brokerage, co-registration, lead generation, and mobile messaging services for various off-line and on-line marketers; data processing services and database management for high-profile political and non-profit organizations, as well as for catalog direct marketing industry; and email solutions for a range of industries, including retail, travel, entertainment, financial, consumer packaged goods, and healthcare. The Marketing Research Group segment provides customer satisfaction surveys, employee surveys, opinion polling, and other market research services for businesses and government. The company was formerly known as infoUSA Inc. and changed its name to infoGROUP Inc. in June 2008. infoGROUP, Inc. was founded in 1972 and is headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska.
