The company's tests are based on enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) technology, a clinical testing methodology. It also designs and manufactures laboratory instruments, including Mago Plus and Aptus systems that perform the tests in an automated mode, as well as autoimmune reagents and research products for use by research laboratories and commercial diagnostic manufacturers to produce autoimmune diagnostic kits. IVAX Diagnostics sells its products to hospitals, reference laboratories, clinical and research laboratories, and pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, as well as to other commercial companies that manufacture diagnostic products primarily in the United States and Italy. The company was founded in 1980 and is headquartered in Miami, Florida.
