Kodiak Oil & Gas Corp. engages in the exploration, exploitation, acquisition, and production of natural gas and crude oil in the United States. It explores for oil and natural gas reserves in the Williston Basin in Montana and North Dakota, and the Green River Basin of Wyoming and Colorado. As of December 31, 2008, it had estimated proved reserves of 1.2 billion cubic feet of natural gas and 344 thousand barrels of oil. The company was formerly known as Columbia Copper Company Ltd. and changed its name to Kodiak Oil & Gas Corp. in 2001. Kodiak Oil & Gas Corp. was incorporated in 1972 and is headquartered in Denver, Colorado.
