The Automotive segment supplies electronic and electromechanical devices and related products to automobile original equipment manufacturers directly or through their Tier 1 suppliers, including control switches for electrical power and signals, connectors for electrical devices, integrated control components, switches, and sensors that monitor the operation or status of a component or system, and packaging of electrical components. The Interconnect segment provides various copper and fiber optic interconnect solutions for the computer, telecommunications, medical, and aerospace industries. Its products include wire-to-board solutions, board-to-board solutions, memory cards, wireless assemblies, cable assemblies, terminal blocks and strips, power cordsets, inlet/outlet connectors, and conductive polymer and thick film inks. The Power Distribution segment manufactures current-carrying bus devices and cabling systems that are used in various markets and applications, including telecommunications, computers, transportation, industrial and power conversion, insulated gate bipolar transistor solutions, aerospace, and military. The Other segment designs and manufactures products for sensing torque without contact. It also provides services for qualification testing, failure analysis, and certification of electronic and optical components through its laboratories. The company was founded in 1946 and is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.
