In addition, it provides vacuum products, such as vacuum gauging products, and vacuum valves and process solutions, as well as electrostatic management solutions, multivariate data analysis and modeling software, and data and yield management software. The company's products are used in the semiconductor processing steps, such as depositing thin films of material onto silicon wafer substrates, and etching and cleaning circuit patterns; in the manufacture of flat panel displays, data storage media, solar cells, and other coatings; in the energy generation and environmental monitoring processes, such as nuclear fuel processing, fuel cell research, greenhouse gas monitoring, and chemical agent detection; in medical instrument sterilization; and in consumable medical supply manufacturing and pharmaceutical manufacturing. It serves manufacturers of semiconductor capital equipment, semiconductor devices, and thin film capital equipment; other industrial, medical, and manufacturing companies; and university, government, and industrial research laboratories. The company was founded in 1961 and is headquartered in Andover, Massachusetts with additional offices in China, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, Singapore, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
