The company has a strategic alliance with New England Cryogenic Center, Inc. to provide processing and storage capacity for consumers on the East Coast, and process and store for research purposes; and with UTEK Corporation to identify and isolate stem cells from adult human bone marrow called very small embryonic-like stem cells. The company was formerly known as Phase III Medical, Inc. and changed its name to Neostem, Inc. in 2006. NeoStem, Inc. is headquartered in New York, New York.
