Newpark Resources, Inc. provides integrated fluids management, waste disposal, and well site preparation products and services to the oil and gas exploration and production industry principally in the U.S. Gulf Coast, West Texas, the U.S. mid-continent, the U.S. Rocky Mountains, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and certain areas of Europe and North Africa. The company operates in three segments: Fluids Systems and Engineering, Mats and Integrated Services, and Environmental Services. The Fluids Systems and Engineering segment offers drilling fluids products and technical services (under the Newpark Drilling Fluids name) to drilling projects involving subsurface conditions, such as horizontal, directional, geologically deep, or deep water drilling. This segment also provides completion fluids and equipment rental services; and includes the barite and specialty products processing business of Excalibar. The Mats and Integrated Services segment offers well-site preparation, temporary access roads (using composite and wood mat systems), pit design, remedial services, and lease maintenance. This business also provides access roads and temporary work sites for pipeline, electrical utility, and highway construction projects. The Environmental Services segment processes and disposes waste generated by oil and gas customers, and provides onshore drilling waste management and reclamation services. Newpark Resources, Inc. was founded in 1932 and is headquartered in The Woodlands, Texas.
