Otelco Inc. provides wireline telephone services for residential and business customers in north central Alabama, central Maine, western Massachusetts, central Missouri, and southern West Virginia. It offers wireline local telephone services, which include caller identification, call waiting, call forwarding, and voicemail; long distance telephone services; network access services, such as origination, transport, and termination of calls of long distance and other interexchange carriers; cable television services, including basic, digital, high-definition, digital video recording, and pay per view cable television services; dial-up and digital high-speed Internet access; and transport services, such as rental of fiber to transport data and other telecommunications services. The company also provides communications services, such as data and voice network configurations; telephone related services, including leasing, selling, installing, and maintaining customer premise telecommunications equipment; billing and collection services for other carriers under contract; and directory advertising services, as well as publishes local telephone directories. As of December 31, 2008, it operated approximately 100,043 voice and data access lines; had 98,187 wholesale network connections; and served 4,082 cable television customers and 11,864 dial-up Internet customers. The company was founded in 1998 and is based in Oneonta, Alabama.
