Its consumable product line comprises FT500 PULSE Tube that transmits the power of PCT from the Barocycler instrument to the sample; and ProteoSolve for Lipid Rich Samples, a PCT-dependent method for the extraction of proteins from lipid-rich samples, including adipose and brain tissues, organelles, and membrane preparations. The company also has applications in various life sciences areas, such as genomic, proteomic, and small molecule sample preparation; pathogen inactivation; protein purification; control of chemical reactions; and immunodiagnostics. It serves academic laboratories; government agencies; and biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and other life science companies. The company was formerly known as Boston Biomedica, Inc. and changed its name to Pressure BioSciences, Inc. in September 2004 as a result of change in business strategy. Pressure BioSciences, Inc. was founded in 1978 and is based in South Easton, Massachusetts.
