Its product line includes Progress OpenEdge platform, which offers development tools, application servers, application management tools, an embedded database, and the capability to connect and integrate with other applications and data sources; and Progress EasyAsk that provides product search, navigation, and merchandising for Web sites. The company's product portfolio also consists of Progress Sonic, which comprises an enterprise messaging system and the enterprise service buses; Progress Actional that offers Web services management and service oriented architecture (SOA) management; Orbix for enterprise integration solutions; and Artix, which allows flexibility in SOA adoption. In addition, it offers Progress Apama, an event processing platform, which monitors moving event streams and detects patterns, and acts on high velocity data streams, including financial market feeds, RFID signals, telecommunications network traffic, and satellite telemetry data; DataDirect Connect products, which provide data connectivity components; and DataDirect Shadow to provide foundation architecture for standards-based mainframe integration. Further, the company's product line consists of Progress DataXtend, which offers data integration for distributed applications; and Progress ObjectStore, an object data management system to store data faster than relational database management system or file-based storage system. Additionally, it provides consulting, training, and technical support services. Progress Software Corporation offers its solutions to businesses, industries, and governments worldwide. The company was founded in 1981 and is based in Bedford, Massachusetts.
