It also provides commercial mortgage; one to four family residential loans; commercial loans; loans for automobiles and other consumer durables; home equity loans; term loans; interim construction loans for builders; owner-occupied commercial real estate loans; lines of credit; and loans for working capital, business expansion, and the purchase of equipment and machinery. In addition, the company offers junior subordinated debentures and overdraft protection; check cashing, official check, safe deposit box rental, and currency handling services; and debit cards, Internet banking, cash management services, and automated telephone banking. As of December 31, 2008, it operated 168 full-service banking locations, including 53 in the Greater Houston consolidated metropolitan statistical area; 27 in the South Texas area, including Corpus Christi and Victoria; 43 in the Central Texas area comprising Austin and Bryan/College Station; 21 in East Texas; and 24 in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area. The company was founded in 1983 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas.
