Its multi-chip modules product line comprises power amplifier modules, active antenna products, voltage controlled oscillators, phase-locked loops, coaxial resonator oscillators, active mixers, hybrid amplifiers, power doublers, and optical receivers; and passive components consist of splitters, couplers, mixers, transformers, isolators, and circulators. The company's products enable worldwide mobility and provide connectivity and support advanced functionality in the cellular handset, wireless infrastructure, wireless local area network (WLAN), cable television (CATV)/broadband, and aerospace and defense markets. It serves commercial, industrial, military, aerospace, and other markets in wireless and wired communications applications. RF Micro Devices, Inc. sells its products to original equipment manufacturers and original design manufacturers through a network of sales representative firms and distributors. It has a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory to develop a compound semiconductor-based process for high-performance photovoltaic cells. The company was founded in 1991 and is headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina.
