Sify Technologies Limited provides Internet, network, and electronic commerce services primarily in India. The company's corporate network/data services comprise various Internet protocol-based virtual private network offerings, including intranets, extranets, and remote access applications; and security solutions, such as security design, audit, procurement, and integration. It also offers application services, such as Web site design, development, content management, search engine optimization, hosting, and management services, including domain name management, secure socket layer certificate for Web sites, and server space in required operating system and database. In addition, Sify Technologies operates Internet data centers in Mumbai, Chennai, and Bangalore; and provides Internet trust services and remote management services. Further, it offers public Internet access, voice over Internet protocol, and dial-up access; operates online portals, including sify.com, samachar.com, and sifymax.in; offers related content sites customized to Indian interests worldwide; and facilitates Web-based learning for various organizations. As of March 31, 2008, the company had 3,887 iways in 180 cities, of which 3,853 cybercafes were franchised and 34 cybercafes were owned and operated by the company. Sify Technologies also owned and operated 481 telecommunication facilities in approximately 400 cities that enable its customers to connect to the Internet through a local telephone call. The company serves information technology enabled services, banking financial services and insurance, publishing, retail, pharmaceuticals, and manufacturing industries. It has a strategic partnership with the Power Grid Corporation of India to provide enterprise network services. The company, formerly known as Sify Limited, was founded in 1995 and is headquartered in Chennai, India.
