Southwest Gas Corporation engages in the purchase, distribution, transportation of natural gas in portions of Arizona, Nevada, and California. As of December 31, 2008, the company purchased and distributed, or transported natural gas to approximately 1,819,000 residential, commercial, and industrial customers. In addition, it provides trenching and installation, replacement, and maintenance services for energy distribution systems to utility companies. The company was founded in 1931 and is headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada.
