It operates through four segments: Canadian Personal and Commercial Banking, Wealth Management, U.S. Personal and Commercial Banking, and Wholesale Banking. The Canadian Personal and Commercial Banking segment comprises Canadian banking and global insurance businesses that serve personal and small business customers. It also offers a range of insurance products, including home and automobile coverage, and life and health insurance in Canada and the United States; business property and casualty insurance in the United States; and credit protection coverage. This segment offers banking solutions through telephone and Internet banking, approximately 2,600 automated banking machines, and a network of 1,098 branches located in Canada. The Wealth Management segment provides an array of investment products and services, such as financial advisory, private banking, trust and investment management services, discount brokerage, and distribution and asset management services to retail and institutional clients. The U.S. Personal and Commercial Banking segment comprises various retail and commercial banking operations in the United States. This segment serves through a network of approximately 1,000 branches. The Wholesale Banking segment offers capital markets and investment banking products and services that include underwriting and distribution of new debt and equity issues, providing advice on strategic acquisitions and divestitures, and executing daily trading and investment needs. The company was founded in 1855 and is headquartered in Toronto, Canada. Toronto-Dominion Bank operates as a subsidiary of TD Bank Financial Corp.
