The Meridian Resource Corporation, together with its subsidiaries, explores for, acquires, develops, and produces oil and natural gas reserves, primarily located onshore in south Louisiana and Texas; and offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. As of December 31, 2008, it had proved reserves of 80 billion cubic feet equivalent of natural gas; and owned interests in 19 fields and 100 producing wells. The company was founded in 1985 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas.
