The company operates in three segments, Cement, Aggregates, and Consumer Products. The Cement segment produces gray portland cement, as well as specialty cements, such as masonry and oil well cements. The Aggregates segment offers natural aggregates, including sand, gravel, and crushed limestone; and expanded shale and clay lightweight aggregates. The Consumer Products segment provides ready-mix concrete, packaged concrete mix, mortar, sand, and related products. The company serves the public works, residential, commercial, retail, and industrial and institutional construction sectors, as well as the energy industry. Texas Industries, Inc. was founded in 1946 and is based in Dallas, Texas.
