Webster Preferred Capital Corp (WBSTP)
Webster Preferred Capital Corporation, a real estate investment trust (REIT), engages in the acquisition, holding, and management of real estate mortgage assets in Connecticut. Its real estate mortgage assets include mortgage-backed securities and residential mortgage loans. Webster Preferred Capital has elected to be taxed as a REIT under the internal revenue code of 1986. As a REIT, it would not subject to federal income tax, provided it distributes at least 90% of its taxable income to its shareholders. The company was founded in 1991 and is based in Waterbury, Connecticut. Webster Preferred Capital Corporation is a subsidiary of Webster Bank, National Association.
